Estrogen has both negative and positive effects that are important for any athlete and bodybuilder to be aware of.  First of all, estrogen enhances androgen receptor concentrations in certain body tissues, promotes high density lipoproteins and optimizes the utilization of muscle glucose to repair and grow new tissue.  However, there are many negative effects from estrogen that should be made very clear. Estrogen will increase water retention and fat build-up leading to a reduction in muscular definition. Definitely not what you want if you are an aspiring bodybuilder.  As a matter of fact, this is every bodybuilder’s nightmare!  What’s even worse is that an excess of estrogen in males leads to a medical condition known as gynecomastia; the development of female breast tissue (less flattering names for this condition are “gyno” or “bitch tits”).  Androgenic hormones and estrogenic hormones have opposite roles in the distribution of body fat and the growth of breast tissues.  It is important to try to maximize the ratios between these two hormones especially during times when one is attempting to reduce body fat and excess water.  Estrogen maintenance is also important where gynecomastia is a concern especially when anabolic hormones or powerful testosterone boosters are used for long periods of time.  This is where testosterone conversion to estrogen is certainly a major concern. This is also why estrogen inhibitors are a must during PCT (post cycle therapy).



So how can we control this nasty estrogen hormone?  This is where our new product SERMadex comes into play.  SERMadex contains three powerful SERMs that will keep estrogen in check.  What amazes many about this formula is that it also induces endogenous testosterone production quite dramatically.  Let’s take a look at SERMadex and it’s other two major components.



     The SERMadex™ Anti-Estrogen Formula



SERMAdex (7-methoxy-2-phenyl-4H-chromen-4-one)-  This is the primary ingredient in SERMadex and is a flavonoid (more specifically a flavone).  It is a well-known fact in the scientific community that flavones are known for their ability to inhibit estrogenic activity.  Chrysin is perhaps the most well-known flavone known to do this.  However, questions have arisen about chrysin’s ability to be absorbed by the body and whether enough of it would still be available after digestion to have any effect. SERMadex is a flavone that actually is able to survive the digestive tract and enter circulation relatively intact. Once in circulation, SERMadex helps to inhibit those enzymes responsible for converting androgens into estrogen. For the body builder, the reduction of estrogen means lean mass, less body fat and a dramatic reduction of excess water for a dry, hard look.





2,3,4,5-Tetrahydroxyhexanedioic acid – This compound is also known as D-Glucaric Acid. It is an anti-oxidant and is also a very powerful estrogen scavenger. It literally purges the body of excess estrogen.  As we’ve noted with other ingredients, some companies take an incredibly effective compound and use a scant amount of it in their formulas. This is especially true of D-Glucaric Acid as it is a very expensive compound to mass produce. The therapeutic dose for this compound is at least 400mg daily.  The D-Glucaric Acid in the SERMadex formula is dosed to 500mg daily to assure for maximum excretion of excess estrogen.




Reynoutria japonica –  Reynoutria japonica contains a high level of Resveratrol (5-[2-(4-hydroxyphenyl)ethenyl]benzene-1,3-diol).  Resveratrol acts to bind to the estrogen receptor site to prevent estrogen from binding to its corresponding receptor. we use this SERM in our Sterodrol formula and thought it only fitting to use it in the SERMadex formula because of its’ incredible effectiveness. As stated in the Sterodrol description, the other benefit of this ingredient is that there is a corresponding increase in testosterone production as well along with estrogen reduction.  More testosterone means faster easier gains.
